My Dog Died in Food Poison!! :(

The effects of food poisoning on dogs can be fatal in some cases and even ordinary foods can be poisonous to dogs. So Dog Owner must beware when feeding their dogs leftovers and tidbits. Regardless of the fact that even well known brands of pet food can cause food poisoning in dogs due to accidental contamination, there are also many foods that contain toxins that are harmful to dogs. For example, some sugarless candies contain xylitol which it has recently been discovered can give dogs food poisoning that can result in liver damage and even death. Chocolate is another everyday product that can have severe side effects in dogs!! No Chocolate!

There are many signs of food poisoning to look for in dogs such as lethargic movements and a complete loss of appetite. Yellow jaundiced eyes and gums can indicate liver damage and food poisoning in dogs. Vomiting can also be an indication that the dog ingested toxic substances. It can take a number of days before a dog shows any signs of illness but if you fear that they may have eaten poisoned food, take them to a veterinarian even if they seem well.

Preventing Food Poisoning in Dogs

In order to prevent the harmful effects of food poisoning in Pregnant Dog, there are a number of steps and precautions that pet owners can take. Limiting the amount of raw meat and especially fish that your dog regularly eats can prevent infections caused by bacteria and parasites. Moldy and gone off food should never be given to a dog to save it from being wasted. Chocolate and sweets are not good for dogs because of certain ingredients but also because the fat content is too excessive for a dog’s system. Excessive amounts of onion, garlic and other ingredients used in most kitchens can become quite toxic to a dog.

Handling a dog’s food should be treated hygienically in the same way as human food should be to avoid dog health problems. Dogs may have stronger stomachs in one sense but they are also sensitive to bacteria and infections. A dog cannot tell its owner if it experiences symptoms that indicate sickness and by the time the symptoms become obvious to the owner’s eyes, the dog may already have suffered the effects of food poisoning. The longer an illness is allowed to prolong, the more expensive the vet’s bills will be if the illness becomes serious.

Teaching your dog to sit will be one of the first tricks he learns. Why? It’s relatively easy to accomplish and it will prove to be an important ingredient in good behavior as your dog grows and masters other important commands and tricks. So, where do you begin?

First, find both a quiet place and an enthusiastic dog. Call the dog by his name and let him know you have a treat for him by letting him smell the hand holding the treat. This will get the dog’s attention. You should always think about how you can get your dog his or her Large Dog Supplies every day. Also if you are looking for your dog his or her own stylish Small Dog Clothes and Dog Coats then you should check out Doggy Dog Supplies. Next, because the dog is in a standing position, hold the treat over his head and slowly move it back towards his bottom. Simultaneously say “sit.” If the dog jumps for the treat, you’re probably holding the treat too high. If the dog turns to find the treat, begin again and gently push the dog’s bottom to a sitting position while repeating the “sit” command.

As soon as the dog sits on his own, reward him with a treat. This will ensure that he knows what’s expected and will learn that when he performs, he receives praise. But, keep lessons short; each should only be about 15 minutes. Remember, too, to keep your patience. A playful puppy may not seem a prime candidate for a student, but practice makes perfect.

After you’ve perfected the “sit” command in the quiet of your home or yard, take your dog on a walk. Practice using the “sit” command while on a busy street or around a couple of other people. And, you need not offer a treat each and every time the dog sits. But, do offer a treat every now and then. This will remind the dog that there’s something in it for him.

The next step is to move to a more crowded area – the dog park, a very busy part of town, the entrance to a store. Once your dog has mastered the sit command in the midst of life’s hustle and bustle, you can rest assured that you’ve both achieved this step in dog training. After all, sit will become important as you expand your repertoire to include the sit-stay command, the down command and the down-stay command. And, knowing that you and your dog are compatible to learn this command will only expand both of your confidence as you continue your schooling.

Familiarizing your puppy with its new home is essential! It is necessary that your little one learn every aspect of their home and learn their boundaries as well as interacting with the family.

Taking your puppy outdoors is not only necessary but it is also good for their physical needs as well as mental needs. When you allow your pup to go outside, you are going to have to be strict about keeping watchful eyes on your little guy or gal. It is recommended that this be done especially in the early months of your new lives together. Also you can get your dog some dog shampoo such as oatmeal dog shampoo.

Why all the fuss? There are dangers that are potential health hazards to your pup! Puppies are really naieve and untrained in what they need to be wary of. It is your job as a responsible dog owner to keep your puppy safe from these hazards. First off, keep in mind that puppies are naturally very curious and very adventurous, so the experiences your puppy may find may not all be good ones! You will want to also be sure to check out this leather dog couch as soon as you can.

We have some tips outlined in helping you to provide a safety plan for you and your pup. You want to really avoid areas where dogs are allowed to run loose. This can lead to your puppy falling victim to an aggressive dog or a dog that may be sickly. You also have to keep in mind that not all owners keep their dogs in control while off a leash, even at a dog park! Most adult dogs are usually good around puppies. Some dogs however, they could be aggressive due to poor training, lifestyle, or perhaps due to a dominance stance. So it is wise to avoid places where dogs run free. Another tip to follow and is a good rule of thumb is NEVER

FORGET OR NEGLECT TO GET YOUR PUPPY THEIR IMMUNIZATIONS!

It is extremely important that you have your puppy vaccinated regularly. Many dog breeds are runners by nature. There is nothing more free than letting your dog run through a wide open area so they can flex their muscles and stretch their legs. However, it is just not a good practice to let your dog off a leash unless it is in an area you know and is secured. The leash is not to restrict you from letting your dog exercise and have fun, but is there to maintain control and to keep your puppy or dog safe.

Dogs can be attacked by other dogs, cats, or animals or if an area is close to a roadway, your precious pooch can be hit and seriously injured or killed. You also have to be leary of children who could be a bit too rough and are feverently bent on chasing a small dog. This can create panic, stress, and fear in your little one. Just by observing your outdoor environment and utilizing caution in public areas such as parks, public dog runs and parks, and places like fields you can find a great way to help your puppy get the most out of their outdoor adventure while taking away the threat of injury or sickness.

Some daily activity and exercise is essential, allowing freedom to move about in a natural manner. Lack of exercise leads to poor muscle tone, obesity, heart ailments, bone disorders and often results in emotional problems and dog behavior quirks.

Dogs with no exercise subjected to overcrowding and confinement in cages for prolonged periods, often their entire lives, develop a great variety of physical and emotional disorders.

How Much Exercise?

How much exercise is enough depends on your dog’s age, breed, and health. A 10-month old Irish Terrier puppy is going to need more than a five-year old Whippet (you could appropriately sing, “Wild thing, you make my heart sing” as your puppy races around the house and yard). A sight hound needs short bursts of exercise; guarding dogs don’t need as much overall as sporting breeds who like to hunt all day. Even within a breed, the need varies. A highly energetic eight-year-old Golden Retriever could easily need more exercise than a calm three-year old Golden. And geriatric dogs still need to go for walks–just shorter ones than they used to enjoy.

Generally speaking, a leashed walk around the block isn’t going to cut it. Most dogs need 30 to 60 minutes of exercise a day. Your canine pal needs enough that he’s slowed down by the time you stop. Some general rules of thumb:

Active breeds need a minimum of 30 minutes of hard aerobic exercise most days of the week, preferably daily.

Not all toy or small breeds get enough exercise inside the house (contrary to popular belief). Pugs, for example, are prone to obesity and need much more exercise than they usually get.

It’s not safe to go out in extremely hot or cold weather. During such periods, stay inside and teach tricks to engage your dog’s mind, throw toys, or run up and down the stairs together.

Good exercise uses both mental and physical muscles. Exploring a new hiking trail, for example, engages your dog’s mind as well as his body.

Live by the philosophy that a tired dog is a good dog.

Remember, our dog like exercise like us. Don’t leave him/her alone. Bring it out and could live healtier!

Wouldn’t you love to have a picture of your Poodle on a sweatshirt or tee shirt, a screensaver, a mouse pad or a coffee mug? By following a few simple suggestions for taking professional looking Poodle pictures, you’ll be able to take great pictures of your Poodle with an affordable digital camera, an inexpensive, disposable 35 mm camera, or even a digital camera phone.

Plan Your Photo Session

Your pictures will turn out better if you plan your photo session, plan your composition and use the right photo editing software. Using a digital camera can save you quite a bit of money over using an analog camera.

Get everything you need ready before you involve your Poodle in the process. Load a fresh memory card in your digital camera, replace the batteries in your camera and carry an extra set of fresh batteries with you. Choose a setting for your pictures. For an indoor setting, be sure the light is adequate. If you are working in an outdoor area, secure the area for your Poodle’s safety. A fenced back yard makes a great outdoor setting because you won’t need to worry about your dog getting away and being hit by a car or attacked by a loose dog.

Choose someone who gets along with your dog, and whom your dog likes, to be your assistant. This is a fun task for an older child who likes to work with the Poodle. Taking pictures together can be a fun adventure for the three of you. Thank your assistant after the session is over by sending a thank you gift personalized with one of the Poodle pictures you took together. A coffee mug or mouse pad makes a great gift.

Choose Backdrop and Poodle Accessories

The Poodle, with its dense, curly coat, looks best photographed against a smooth, solid colored background. Dark poodles usually look best against light backgrounds and vice versa. Velvet or canvas fabrics make great backdrops for Poodle pictures. Consider using a chromatic green backdrop, available for a reasonable price at any photography supply site. With a chromatic green backdrop, you can change the background in your photos and add any digital background you like. These varied backdrops add interest to your Poodle pictures. Whatever backdrop you use, it must be uncluttered so all the attention is focused on your Poodle.

Props and accessories help enhance your dog’s appeal in a picture. Props work especially well with poodles, to put the dog in scale so the viewer knows whether the animal is a toy poodle, a miniature poodle or a standard poodle. Take pictures from you dog’s eye level. Sit or kneel to photograph a standard poodle, and move a toy dog up to a tabletop or counter top.

Follow these suggestions, and you will soon be taking professional quality pictures of your Poodle. Kindly share your poodle photo with us ?
Give Me Time To Understand What You Want Of Me.
Place Your Trust In Me. It’s Crucial To My Well-Being.
Be Aware That However You Treat Me I’ll Never Forget It…
Before You Scold Me For Being Lazy, Ask Yourself If Something Might Be Bothering Me.

Once you bring that adorable Chihuahua puppy home from the breeder, it is time for the Chihuahua obedience training to begin. By the time your pup is old enough to go home with you, he is old enough to begin learning to follow basic commands and find out what the rules of the house are. Keep in mind that very young Chihuahua puppies will have much shorter attention spans, so you will want to keep your early training sessions short and free of distractions.

Chihuahuas have a reputation for being a bit difficult to train, but as long as you are consistent with your Chihuahua obedience training, he will eventually learn to obey your commands. It will take patience and persistence on your part, so make sure that you are armed with both if you want the training session to be effective. It is also important to use plenty of praise to encourage your Chihuahua in his training sessions, and a cookie or two will not be a bad idea either!

How to Train Chihuahua ?

The most important commands for your Chihuahua to learn during Chihuahua obedience training are sit, stay, come and down. Even if that pup is merely jumping up and down at your kneecaps, dogs that jump are not well-trained dogs. Another important command that your dog needs to learn is “no”. This command should always be given in a firm, low voice with a stern facial expression, so that your puppy learns right away that no means no! It is also important to give the command when your dog is in the middle of an infraction, like when he wraps his chops around your designer sandals. If you do it minutes or even seconds after the offense, your dog will have no idea what you are talking about.

Once “no” is a part of your pup’s vocabulary, begin working on the commands like “come” and “sit”. With plenty of praise and cookies, your puppy should be able to learn these commands fairly quickly. Make sure that you offer simple, one word commands with plenty of positive reinforcement when your dog does your bidding.

Before you ever head to the breeder to pick up your puppy, you should be well prepared for the Chihuahua obedience training that lies ahead. If you need additional help with the task, you can find plenty of books and Internet sites that can get you started, or you can enroll you and your puppy in an obedience training course. These classes are designed to teach dog owners how to teach their dogs, and can be a highly effective method of Chihuahua training – as long as you and your puppy faithfully complete the homework every week.
